Conference/State Accolades
Boys Baseball
Baseball ran a close, competitive NLC season with Warsaw and Northridge both posting 10-4 records to share the title. Congratulations to Tiger Coach Mike Hepler, honored as NLC Coach-of-the-Year. Concord takes the lone NLC IHSAA Sectional Championship for '09. Wawasee's Jose Rodriguez and Jake Sommers are named Honorable Mention All-State. Goshen's Brett Hunter is named Academic All-State.
Boys Basketball
It's all Northridge in Conference basketball. Going 7-0 NLC season on their way to the Conference Title, the Raiders post an undefeated regular season and win an IHSAA Sectional Crown. The Chargers at Memorial win a Sectional Trophy too. Raider Coach Jason Ridge is honored as NLC Coach-of-the-Year. Memorial's Karvel Anderson is named Honorable Mention All-State.
Girls Basketball
For a third year in a row, three NLC teams win 20 games. There is a 3-way tie for the NLC Championship trophy- Memorial, Plymouth, and Wawasee. NLC Coach-of-the-Year honors go to Dave Cox of Plymouth. IHSAA Sectional Titles are earned at NorthWood, Memorial and Plymouth. Named Academic All-State: Goshen's Kaitlyn Headings and Northridge's Leah Meyer. Named an East-West All-Star and to numerous All-Star teams is Wawasee's Taylor Goshert. Teammate Brennan McAdams is named All-State Honorable Mention and she was honored with the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame Jennings Scholarship.
Girls Cheerleading
Cheerleading is not an IHSAA or NLC sport. Many NLC schools participate in cheer competitions. NorthWood competes in the State Finals for Cheerleading.
Boys Cross Country
Congratulations to the Raiders on winning the NLC Championship, following a 7-0 NLC season and the NLC Meet victory! Raider Coach Josh Fletcher was named NLC Coach-of-the-Year. NLC Meet Champion was Memorial's Race Dorsey. The Raiders continued with IHSAA Sectional and Regional crowns; finishing 8th in the IHSAA State Championships. Named Academic All-State was Goshen's Sam Jacobs, Concord's Ben Clark, and Plymouth's Declan Fox and Andrew Sanchez. Concord's Daniel Zelaya was named All-State 3rd team with Plymouth's Calvin Cook and Andrew Kurtz honored as Honorable Mention All-State.
Girls Cross Country
The Northridge Raiders and NLC Coach-of-the-Year Ryan McClane capture the NLC honors behind a 7-0 dual season and a victory at the NLC Championships! The Raiders continue with IHSAA Sectional, Regional and Semi-State Titles and as a team finished 7th in the IHSAA State Championships held in Terre Haute. Warsaw's Erica Ridderman was the individual NLC Champion at Oxbow Park, finished 18th in the State Championships and was awareded the IHSAA Cross Country Mental Attitude Award. Goshen's Karla Folker and Plymouth's Mae Christiansen were named Academic All-State.
Boys Football
Plymouth's John Barron was named NLC Coach-of-the-Year with the Rockies winning the NLC Trophy with a 7-0 mark. NorthWood won IHSAA Sectional and Regional Championships in the final year of coaching for Mentor Rich Dodson. Named All-State: Concord's David Yoder and David House, and NorthWood's Brandon Williams and Skyler Titus. Named All-State Honorable Mention: Memorial's Zach Corpe, Tyler Keck, Jeremy Mack and Chris Soptich, and Concord's Jeff Weber, Devon Parker, Vince Vahala, David House, Casey Clark, Adam Cantwell, and JaVontae Hence. Named Academic All-State Goshen's Brett Hunter and Plymouth's Jeremy Renz. Named Junior All-State Concord's Adam Cantwell and Kyle Gavin. Named to the Indiana All-Star game was Concord's David House, NorthWood's Brandon Williams and Skyler Titus and Plymouth's Brandon Elliott. Coach Dodson served as the Coach for the North All-Star Football team.
Boys Golf
It was an NLC season to talk about. Concord goes 7-0 in NLC plays, but the Warsaw Tigers take all the hardware home following the NLC meet. Tiger Coach Ben Barkey is named Coach-of-the-Year in the NLC. NorthWood's Brady Klotz wins both the NLC and Sectional Medalist honors. Goshen's Matt Nafziger is named Academic All-State. Capturing IHSAA Sectional honors are Northridge and Warsaw.
Girls Golf
Wawasee wins the NLC Championship meet and the title for 2008. NorthWood's Amy Thompson won the shortened NLC Meet at McCormick Creek. Warrior Coach Scott DeHart is named NLC Coach-of-the-Year. IHSAA Sectional Medalist honors are earned by Wawasee's Taylor Goshert, Memorial's Kaley King and NorthWood's Amy Thompson. Warsaw wins an IHSAA Sectional. Named Academic All-State is Goshen's Lynn Weaver.
Boys Gymnastics
The NLC does not recognize gymnastics as a conference sport. Plymouth, Wawasee, and Warsaw field teams.

Boys Soccer
Congratulations to Co-Champions of the NLC- Concord and Northridge. Both register 5-1-1 records. Concord's Shawn NcCuen was named Coach-of-the-Year in the NLC. IHSAA Sectional Titles went home with Concord, Warsaw, NorthWood and Goshen. Warsaw continues their success with a Regional title. Named to the Soccer Showcase were Goshen's Josh Stiffney and Vincente Aguilar. Named 2nd Team All-State was Concord's Jordan Burt. Named Academic All-State was Goshen's Carl Kay and Peter Martin.
Girls Soccer
Curt Feece of Plymouth and Dodd Cunningham of Wawasee were named NLC Co-Coaches-of-the-Year following identical 5-0-2 NLC seasons. The NLC was shut out of IHSAA sectional championships. Kylee Ort of Wawasee was named All-State Honorable Mention and Lynn Weaver of Goshen was named Academic All-State.
Girls Softball
Memorial claims the NLC Crown, with a 12-2 record, and Charger Coach Craig Sears is named NLC Softball Coach-of-the-Year. Memorial is the lone school in the NLC to win an IHSAA Sectional Trophy. Named Honorable Mention Academic All-State is Plymouth's Amber Large. Concord's Andrea Pinarski is named 2nd Team All-State and Nicole Nickoson of Memorial is 3rd Team All-State.
Boys Swimming and Diving
Northridge dominated NLC Swimming with a 7-0 record in the duals and a big margin win in the Championship Meet. Coach Joe Keller was named the NLC Swim Coach-of-the-Year. Credit the Raiders of Northridge and the Tigers of Warsaw with IHSAA Sectional Championships. Keller's swimmers turn in a 6th place team effort in the State Championships. Just behind them, the Minutemen from Concord claim 10th. Concord's Alex Burtch is 3rd in the 200 IM. Alex teams with Mike Richline, Jeremy Rose and Terry Peoples for a 7th place effort in the 400 Free Relay. All four are named All-State. Warsaw's Brian Thallemer is 14th in the 100 backstroke and diver Ben Rankin 15th. Named Academic All-State is Alex Burtch of Concord.
Girls Swimming and Diving
Northridge claimed the NLC Championship behind an undefeated NLC season and a Championship effort in the NLC Meet. Raider Coach Joe Keller is honored as NLC Coach-of-the-Year. An IHSAA Sectional Crown is earned at Northridge and Warsaw. In the State Championships, Plymouth's Kenzie Miller was 9th in the 100 Free and 11th in the 100 back and Wawasee's Brittany Robinson swam to an 8th place in the 50 Free and 7th in the 100 Butterfly. Both are named All-State; Brittany an All-American.
Boys Tennis
Concord wins the battle of the dual meets and completes their championship effort in winning the NLC Meet. Minuteman Coach Todd Denton is named NLC Coach-of-the-Year. NorthWood, Warsaw, Plymouth, and Northridge all win an IHSAA Sectional Championship with the Raiders going on to post a Regional Championship. Named Academic All-State was Goshen's Mac Hussey. NorthWood's Preston Swain is a North-South All-Star and WArsaw's Deon Shafer is named All-State.
Girls Tennis
Plymouth and Northridge share dual meet records and the NLC title is won outright by Northridge during the Championship Meet in a very competitive NLC race. Coach Scott Miller of Goshen was honored as NLC Coach-of-the-Year. IHSAA Sectional Championship honors are earned at NorthWood, Plymouth, Warsaw, and Northridge. The Panthers go on to an IHSAA Regional title, the first in NorthWood's history. Named Academic All-State is Goshen's Ellie Berry, and Memorial's Kelly Emerson. Named Academic All-State Honorable Mention is Memorial's Alyssa Dibley. Named All-State 2nd Team is Charger Kately Grubb with Plymouth's Carly Plumlee and Lindsay Renz Honorable Mention All-State. In individual #1 IHSAA State Tournament play, Memorial's Katelyn Grub is a singles Sectional Champion, and Doubles Sectional Champions are won by Concord's Adrianna Allen and Jennifer Hershberger and Plymouth's Carly Plumlee adn Lindsay Renz.
Boys Track and Field
Track has been a standout NLC sport and the 2009 season was not different. Northridge wins the overall NLC Championships going 7-0 in duals and winning the NLC Championship Meet. NLC Coach-of-the-Year honors go to Coach Ryan McClane of Northridge. Northridge and Plymouth earn IHSAA Sectional Championships, and Northridge takes the tough Kokomo Regional Crown. The State Championships in Bloomington saw the Raiders finish 3rd as a team and several NLC athletes honored: Warsaw's Victor Sapara-Grant 3rd in the Long Jump; Concord's Anthony Yoder 6th in the 300 Hurdles; Memorial's Peter Roach 3rd in Pole Vault; Plymouth's Curtis Ivy 9th in the Open 400; and Northridge's 4x800 relay of Jake Meier, Mitch Keyser, Andrew Albert and Trevor Moore State Runners-up, Seth Virgil State Runner-up in the Long Jump and 6th in the Open 400, and Jordan Hoffman 3rd in the Discus. All ten name All-State. Memorial's Race Dorsey, Nick Ellis and Peter Rach are named Academic All-State Honorable Mention. Wawasee Coach Scott Lancaster was a coach for Team Indiana at the Midwest Meet of Champions.
Girls Track and Field
The Chargers and Tigers fight it out for the NLC trophy and settle for a share in the overall finish. Coaches for both are named Co-Coaches-of-the-Year: Scott Erba of Warsaw and Bruce Baer of Memorial. Wasaw wins an IHSAA Sectional Championship. In the State Championships, Warsaw's Erica Ridderman is 4th in the 1600 and Cendall Ogle is 7th in the 800; Memorial's Jennifer Krumwiede finishes 9th in the High Jump. All three are named All-State. Named Academic All-State is Goshen's Nicole Johnson, Karla Folker, and Kaitlyn Headings.
Girls Volleyball
The Chargers take the NLC with an impressive 7-0 mark and continue with a remarkable run in the IHSAA State Tournament. Coach Jacquie Rost of Memorial is honored as NLC Volleyball Coach-of-the-Year and she is also honored as ICGSA Class 4A North Coach-of-the-Year. IHSAA Sectionals are won at NorthWood and Memorial. The Chargers go on to capture the Regional Championship Crown and to play in the 4A State Championships. Named All-State- Memorial's Jennifer Krumwiede and Lindsay Marks. Named 2nd Team All-State Memorial's Amy Oldenburg. Named Academic All-State- Goshen's Rachel Frantz; Memorial's Kelly Emerson and Molly Wilkins; and Northridge's Leah Meyer, Kim Kershner and Cortnie Martin. Honorable Mention Academic All-State goes to Plymouth's Erin McNeil and Concord's Callie Hartman. Named to the North All Star team is Memorial's Jennifer Krumwiede, Lindsay Marks, Amy Oldenburg and Cassie Uitenhowen, and NorthWood's Ali Heeter.
Boys Wrestling
NLC Wrestling continues in stron fashion. Memorial takes their 8th consecutive NLC Championship in dominating fashion and Charger Coach Brian Selzer is named NLC Coach-of-the-Year. Sectional titles are won at Memorial and Plymouth. Named Academic All-State is Plymouth's Nolin Ludwig. Placing in the IHSAA State Championships are Warsaw's Justin Brooks 5th at 119; Memorial's Zach Corpe 5th at 145 and Ryan Stahl State Runner-up at 140; and Northridge's Drew Graber State Runner-up at 189 and Ross Powell 4th at 160. All are named All-State and Charger Ryan Stahl earns All-American honors.
